I have been working with websites for most of my life, but have only been getting compensated for it since 2004. I've been fortunate enough to be a part of web design and development projects for many great businesses ranging from small Pittsburgh based mom-and-pop shops to Fortune 500 companies.

Drew Nelson Bio
I'm based in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, and graduated from Saint Vincent College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Technology. I would like to think of myself as both left and right brained. I appreciate the complexity of well written code behind the scenes, as well as the elements that go into designing an aesthetically pleasing and easy to use website.
Apart from web design, I like traveling, playing soccer & baseball, trying food I can't pronounce, and rambling about how much I love brewing and drinking craft beer.

A portfolio project I worked on for my former employer Vision Creative Solutions. I was able to get pretty creative with this one, and put a lot of slick jQuery functionality into the site. The site was designed and built from scratch using PHP, Flash Animation, CSS, and HTML5.
I always refer to Vintage Estate Beer and Wine as "My happy place." They were named the Best Beer Retailer in the world in 2010 by Ratebeer.com. Had a great time designing this website, and became friends with the owners in the process. All of the photography on the site was taken by me. I also created the site for their annual beerfest in Boardman, OH, The Big Tap In.
iMedical Group is a medical supply retailer located in Central Pennsylvania. They requested a fully functional shopping cart to sell their full line of products online. The site was created on the Magento eCommerce framework.
This site was probably one of my favorites to work on. Ohio Valley Teen Challenge is a recovery support program for young men in Eastern Ohio. OVTC wanted a website that represented hope. They were very pleased with the result.
Smith Hauling, Inc. is a crane and rigging service located in Central, PA. They requested a site that showcased a lot of photography of their inventory. The site was designed and coded from scratch using jQuery, XHTML, and CSS.
Embroidery Etc. is a full service embroidery, screen printing and apparel shop in the south side of Pittsburgh. Did I mention my mom owns this business? This may or may not have been a factor in me getting a deal for redesigning this site.
Digital Photography started off as a hobby for me, but recently I have been taking it a bit more seriously. I mostly take pictures of businesses for their websites, animals, craft beer, people, and Pittsburgh's amazing skyline. On that note the picture used for the background of this site is available for purchase as a panoramic canvas, as well as any of the Pittsburgh photos you see.
